The “nines” are planning reunions this summer.
The “nines,” as in the classes of 1969, 1979 and 1989 at Pagosa Springs High School.
1969
Everyone is invited to the Class of 1969 reunion, to be held July 3 at Dorothy’s Restaurant. A band will play from 8 p.m. to midnight. On July 5, there will be a picnic at the Schicks’ home, Sunset Ranch, 4186 E. U.S. 160, at 11:30 a.m. Those attending are asked to bring their own drinks and a side dish.
1979
Pagosa Springs High School class of 1979 will hold a class get-together on Saturday, July 4, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Pagosa Springs Elementary School.
This will be a potluck; those attending are asked to bring their own chairs, food and drink.
Most importantly, say organizers, bring yourself for a few minutes, or the entire time. Catch up with your classmates and reminisce.
1989
PSHS Class of 1989 will kick off their 20-year reunion with an adults-only get-together at Nello’s Bistro in the Pagosa Country Center on July 3, starting at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served — your choice of lasagna, chicken or salmon, along with bread, salad, coffee/tea, and dessert for $25 per person. Entertainment will also be provided starting at 8 p.m..
On Saturday, July 4,, the class will have a float in the parade. Anyone willing to help decorate can come to the LPEA parking lot (603 S. 8th St., by the high school) on Friday, July 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Following the parade the class will have a memorial service at the high school in honor of several deceased classmates.
There will be a family picnic on July 5, location pending, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be BYOBB, bring your own burgers/buns (or hot dogs); sides and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.
